About WhatDateWillItBe

WhatDateWillItBe answers one simple question fast: what date will it be (or was it) a certain number of days, weeks, months or years from today? It also counts the days between two dates, works out business days with the public holidays where you live, and keeps live countdowns to the holidays and celebrations people plan around, from Christmas and Thanksgiving to Diwali, Eid and Matariki.

Why we built it

Date math looks easy until it matters. A 30-day return window, a 90-day probation period, a 10-business-day deadline or a due date six months out are all easy to get wrong by a day, especially across month ends, leap years and holidays. We wanted one place that gives the exact answer instantly, explains how it was counted, and works on any phone.

How we keep it accurate

  • Every answer is calculated in your own browser, with your clock and time zone.
  • Today counts as day 0, the standard way deadlines are counted.
  • Months follow the calendar, and short months are handled the way banks and spreadsheets handle them.
  • Week numbers follow the ISO-8601 standard.
  • Public holidays for 13 countries and 47 provinces, states and regions are checked, date by date, against each government’s official list, and re-checked every month.
  • Business days skip the holidays for your own country and region, which we pick from your device settings and you can change at any time.

The full rules are on our how it works page. If you ever spot an answer that looks wrong, please tell us and we will check it the same week.
