Which holidays are skipped?
The official public holidays for the country and region shown above the calculator, including substitute days when a holiday falls on a weekend. We pick your country from your device settings; press Change to choose another. We cover the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Nigeria, Kenya and Jamaica, with every province, state and region that has its own holidays.
How do you make sure the holidays are right?
Every list is checked, date by date, against the official list published by the government, and we re-check the official sources every month. Holidays that governments only announce shortly before the day, such as Eid in some countries, are added once announced.
Is the start date counted?
No. Counting starts the day after the start date, which is how deadlines such as "within 10 business days" are normally worked out.
